{"id":298,"date":"2012-05-02T15:30:52","date_gmt":"2012-05-02T19:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?p=298"},"modified":"2012-05-02T15:32:42","modified_gmt":"2012-05-02T19:32:42","slug":"298","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?p=298","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?attachment_id=297\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-297\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-297\" title=\"Nick the bouzouki-playing barber - 5-2-12 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_0753-e1335986938266.jpg?resize=584%2C473&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"473\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve mentioned my barber Nick here several times over the years but I\u2019ve never posted a photo.<\/p>\n<p>So here he is.<\/p>\n<p>I walked into Nick\u2019s shop in Astoria\u00a0Wednesday about 12:30 PM and he was in full rehearsal mode.\u00a0 A young woman sang in Greek from a seat on the visitor\u2019s bench.\u00a0 Nick sat in the barber\u2019s chair playing the bouzouki.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGimme two minutes,\u201d he said as I hung up my jacket on his shop\u2019s coat rack.<\/p>\n<p>Nick and the woman did a couple numbers as I looked on.\u00a0 It was a beautiful way to precede a haircut on a receding hairline.<\/p>\n<p>Nick really jams on that thing.\u00a0 He sings harmony too.\u00a0 I clapped when he and the woman completed the performance.<\/p>\n<p>When he was done trimming my mop-like, balding dome, he looked it over and offered his usual assessment of a job completed.\u00a0 \u201cBravo,\u201d he said.\u00a0 \u201cBravo.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve mentioned my barber Nick here several times over the years but I\u2019ve never posted a photo.
