{"id":155,"date":"2012-02-27T00:58:48","date_gmt":"2012-02-27T05:58:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?p=155"},"modified":"2012-02-27T01:00:26","modified_gmt":"2012-02-27T06:00:26","slug":"155","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?p=155","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?attachment_id=154\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-154\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-154\" title=\"Lin's Kitchen - Jackson Heights, Queens\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/IMG_0281-e1330322102418.jpg?resize=584%2C401&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"401\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>None of the two dozen or so small local Chinese restaurants I\u2019ve tried that deliver free to my apartment stand out as special or better than the rest.<\/p>\n<p>The popularity of Chinese takeout food in my densely populated neighborhood is apparently what sustains the unusual concentration of like-minded cuisine.<\/p>\n<p>To sort out the options, one needs to look no further than the vestibule of their building.\u00a0 Chinese food takeout menus litter the lobby and are stacked in piles near the mailboxes.\u00a0 Sometimes you\u2019ll find one under your door. \u00a0It\u2019s a bombardment of menus. \u00a0If you save them like me, it won\u2019t take very long to get a drawer full of them.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll try a place once to see if it\u2019s better than the one I tried the week or two before.\u00a0 They\u2019re all pretty much the same, really.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s nice to have options but there\u2019s not much joy in any of it.\u00a0 This is a rut I\u2019ll likely reside in until I just up and quit ordering Chinese takeout.<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe I\u2019m on the brink of finding someplace great.\u00a0 Last week, the folks at <strong><em>\u201cLIN\u2019S KITCHEN\u201d<\/em><\/strong> on 37<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue slipped a menu under my door.\u00a0 Could it be?\u00a0 I\u2019m only now realizing there\u2019s a place a few blocks away called \u201cLin\u2019s Kitchen?\u201d \u00a0Had it not been for the recent unrelated outbreak of Linsanity, I may have never given the menu a second look &#8211; or a place in my drawer.<\/p>\n<p>Now, it\u2019s on the top of the pile.\u00a0 First in the rotation.\u00a0 In the starting lineup.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>None of the two dozen or so small local Chinese restaurants I\u2019ve tried that deliver free to my apartment stand out as special or better than the rest.
