2-7-12 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC01875-e1328654835776.jpg?resize=584%2C397&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"397\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many people in the massive crowd assembled in lower Manhattan Tuesday morning weren\u2019t able to get near the mile and a half stretch of parade route used to honor this city\u2018s latest champion.\u00a0 Lower Broadway doesn\u2019t have room for everybody, so tens of thousands of Giants fans celebrating Sunday\u2019s Super Bowl win spilled over into side streets, plazas and parks.<\/p>\n<p>I ended up in Foley Square with a pretty good view.<\/p>\n<p>I took the E train to World Trade and arrived at about 10:15 AM.\u00a0 At that time, police had sealed off all access points to the east, forcing a somewhat anxious crowd up Church all the way to Franklin Street.<\/p>\n<p>It was 50 and sunny.\u00a0 A perfect day for a parade.<\/p>\n<p>When I got bottled up in a big, penned-in crowd at Leonard and Lafayette, I nearly gave up and went home.\u00a0 I sat down on a bench and regrouped for a few minutes.\u00a0 I decided to walk further east and then circle back to Centre and Worth.\u00a0 That was a good move.<\/p>\n<p>The floats carrying players and coaches first appeared at Foley Square at about 11:30 AM.\u00a0 They were turning right off Worth onto Lafayette for the final stretch of parade route terminating at City Hall.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?attachment_id=104\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-104\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-104\" title=\"Guy in Tree - Foley Square - 2-7-12 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC019581-e1328654949542.jpg?resize=584%2C391&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"391\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Foley Square was wall to wall people.\u00a0 Many people climbed trees, lamp-posts and assorted other elevated perches to get a look.<\/p>\n<p>From where I was, I could make out the faces of Eli, Brandon and Victor when they passed by.\u00a0 The Lombardi trophy was held high in the right hand of New York\u2018s governor.\u00a0 It sparkled in the sun and generated booming cheers.\u00a0 The trophy.\u00a0 Not the governor.\u00a0 The Mayor stood to the Governor\u2019s right.\u00a0 On that same float, Eli grinned and waved.\u00a0 It was aw-shucks by #10 all the way.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d have preferred to be situated in the heart of the Canyon of Heroes, but it was pretty dramatic to see the floats turn onto Lafayette.\u00a0\u00a0 Each was met with thundering roars that bounced around all that marble and granite unique to that part of town.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesauerbrunreport.com\/?attachment_id=105\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-105\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-105\" title=\"Giants parade -
